This patented ingredient consists of 2 antioxidants, Lutein and Zeaxanthin. Together, they help to filter harmful blue light rays and protect eyes from oxidation damage.

As our bodies cannot produce the Lutein and Zeaxanthin we need. We obtain them through our diet or nutritional supplements. Lutemax® 2020 is naturally derived from marigold flowers.

Clinical Study
48 young adults who spent at least 6 hours daily looking at screens from a distance of 3 feet or less were randomized to receive a daily pill containing Lutemax 2020 supplementation or an identical-looking placebo (pills with no Lutemax 2020) for 6 months.Result: At the end of the study, the subjects showed significant improvements in visual performance measures and sleep quality. Additionally, there was a significant reduction in the frequency of headaches, eye strain and eye fatigue.

Clinical Study
In a double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled study, 2 groups of 18 volunteers each were given 6mg of astaxanthin daily or a placebo for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, the researchers checked the retinal capillary blood flow, blood pressure, blood cell counts, fasting plasma glucose level and intraocular pressure.

Result: The group that took astaxanthin showed significantly better blood flow in their eye vessels (p<0.01) compared to the placebo group without affecting the pressure inside the eyes.

Clinical Study 2
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study, 18 healthy males were divided into 2 groups, one group took a pill containing astaxanthin while the other group took a plabeco. Researchers measured their static and kinetic visual acuity, depth perception (how well they judged distances) and critical flicker fusion (CFF) levels (how tired their eyes felt).

Result: At the end of the study, a significant improvement in both distance judgement and eye reduction in eye fatigue was observed in the group that took astaxanthin (p=0.05).
